Welcome to the new and improved Gryphon Solo web site. We hope you like the new look, feel and functionality of the site, as we have worked hard to make it more attractive and user-friendly. This overhaul of the web site also symbolically represents the shift from Phase One of the Gryphon Solo Campaign into Phase Two. With the successful completion of The Transat Race last summer, with title sponsorship from Wells Fargo & Company, the GS program got off to a flying start.
The second phase of the campaign in 2005 will include the Bermuda One-Two race in June, the Marblehead-to-Halifax race in July and then the big event of the Transat Jacque Vabre from LaHavre, France to Salvador, Brazil in November. Wells Fargo will continue to support the GS program, however their participation will be at the Presenting Sponsor level instead of the Title Sponsor level. So, naming rights to the boat are available to corporate sponsors interested in receiving the best return on their invested dollar in the sponsorship world.
While 2005 will include a lot of exciting sailing, it is really a prelude to the third phase of the campaign, which is highlighted by the 5-Oceans solo around the world race beginning in Bilbao, Spain in November 2006. The boat and skipper will need a lot of hard work, commitment and capital to achieve our goal of victory in the 5-Oceans. We look forward to the continued support of so many of you who have assisted the program thus far, and would appreciate any leads towards generating new levels of corporate sponsorship to fuel the program to greater heights going forward.
